After graduating from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree, Valerie was subsequently called to the Singapore bar and admitted to the Roll of Advocates and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2018. She firmly believes in striving to do her best in whatever she does as well as to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly.

Valerie has experience advising on and assisting clients with real estate matters. These matters include sale, purchase, part-share sale, part-share purchase, refinancing, redemption, tenancy and transfer pursuant to court order etc. of various types of properties such as HDB properties, completed and uncompleted private residential properties and industrial properties. Her experience encompasses dealings with financial institutions, the Central Provident Fund Board, the JTC Corporation, the Official Assignee, private receivers, property developers, other governmental agencies and other parties. 

Other matters which Valerie is familiar with are mental capacity matters (e.g. deputyship applications, donorship applications and Lasting Power of Attorney documents); personal estate matters (e.g. testamentary wills, Grant of Probate applications and Grant of Letters of Administration applications); and intellectual property matters (e.g. applications for and enforcement of trademarks and patents in many jurisdictions including but not limited to Singapore, Canada, China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Thailand, the United States of America and Vietnam).

Valerie is effectively bilingual in both English and Mandarin and has completed translation courses during her time in university. She has also been learning basic Sign Language and is actively serving in her church by both singing and signing songs. In her free time, Valerie enjoys dancing, playing the piano, playing the kalimba and learning new skills like circus cycling and longboarding.
